EXAMPLES OF CONSUMER
RESEARCH
As part
of a nationwide survey and clinical research for Staniforth PR
and their client Volvic, we persuaded office workers to abstain
from tea or coffee for the experimental period while we measured
their urine output.
When they
went back to their tea and coffee drinking habits their urine
production was also measured, to discover what impact caffeine (a
diuretic) has on dehydration. The combined survey and
research resulted in more than 50 print stories in the national and
regional press, plus more than a score of radio interviews (17 of
them live). These included the Johnny Walker show on BBC Radio 2
and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
For
GCI and their clients Proctor and Gamble we measured stress
levels among the parents of young children after either watching TV
or playing with their youngsters. The experimental findings
were supported by a nationwide survey, with extensive print media
and radio coverage being the result.
For
Frank PR and Slendertone we conducted a survey
amongst women and asked how they felt about their bodies. The
research conducted for Slendertone was presented at the Rear of the
Year awards won by actress Claire Sweeney. Four television stations
and a dozen radio stations as well as a score or more of
photographers and journalists attended the event from the print
media.
For
QBO and their client Autoglass, a group of mothers had
their stress levels monitored while driving against the clock to
get their children to school on time, collect them from the school
gates, or chauffeur them to such after hour’s activities as
dancing, sport and horse riding. The experiment resulted in
extensive cover in national and regional, as well as extensive
radio coverage.
EXAMPLES OF B2B
RESEARCH
For
GCI and their client Barclays, the DLC came up with
the Denier and Fritterer profiles of financial management. These
terms were rapidly picked up by all the media, including TV (ITN
recorded an interview with Dr Lewis), national and regional
newspapers and magazines, and received extensive radio
coverage.
For
Strategic Alliance and their client LSM we conducted a survey
amongst 500 managing directors and financial directors of major
recruitment firms into the likely impact on the UK economy of
skills shortages. The findings were widely discussed on regional
radio stations and in specialist recruitment
publications.
For
Clarus Corporation a survey was conducted
amongst 100 Finance Directors of companies with a turnover greater
than £ 160 million in non-manufacturing sectors. The survey
was to establish if companies have an e-procurement project planned
as well as if they considered current methods of e-payment to be
efficient and secure. The DLC provided a statistician’s
report on the results of the survey.
For
Weber Shandwick and their client Extrasys: A survey was conducted
during the first two months of 2006 and targeted owners, CEOs and
MDs of UK based businesses ranging in size between five and five
hundred employees.
"The
leading provider of technology as a tailored service for the SME
sector, announced today the results of a national survey carried
out by leading research house David Lewis Consultancy on SME views
surrounding their main business challenges over the next
year"
For
The Institute of Engineering and Technology we carried out a survey
amongst recruiters about what they look for in a job seeker and how
they conduct their interviews. This was then compared with a
consumer survey conducted amongst job seekers who were asked what
they thought or recruiters and interviews. |
